June 10, 2017 | GAAB Collectors Summit | Cosmopolitan, Twarda 4 | Warsaw, Poland
The first edition of the annual international event devoted to asian art collectors

GAAB Collectors Summit aims to highlight the world-wide influence of collectors as one of the main forces on the art market. It will be the first time that a team of collectors of Contemporary Asian art come together to analyse the essentials and problems regarding their passion not only in relation to the Asian market, but also in terms of it representing a uniform international style. The problems of authenticity, art law, relations with auction houses and the market price will be raised and discussed.

The Program Committee of the Summit comprises world-renowned collectors and experts in the art market. The speakers will share their experiences from 10 countries: China, Singapore, UAE, Turkey, France, Great Britain, Germany, the USA, Switzerland and Poland. Alongside the main sessions, there will also be a series of case studies devoted to the practice of collecting art. The audience of the Summit will include art historians, critics, and experts from Polish museums, curators of international exhibitions, representatives of the leading mass media, diplomatic officers, as well as students of Warsaw universities.

In 2017 the Summit will be a one-day event held on June 10, at one of the most prestigious spaces in Warsaw — Cosmopolitan (ul. Twarda 4). The Summit will be delivered in two languages: English and Polish.

The full audio podcast of the event will be available after the Summit and its  proceedings will be published in collected articles. This publication will be prepared in three languages — English, Polish and Chinese — and published by WIMCAA Foundation. Being one of the European research centres for contemporary Asian art, Poland appears to be a perfect venue for this important and unprecedented academic gathering.
